11 Xiaomi smartphones received the updated firmware MIUI 12.5

Xiaomi has started distributing MIUI 12.5 Enhanced shell. The firmware was presented together with Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. It will receive this version of the software right out of the box, and the update came over the air on 11 smartphones.

MIUI 12.5 Enhanced is an important update to the regular MIUI 12.5, despite the lack of new features. The company focused on improving system optimization and stability. The manufacturer notes 160 system-level improvements along with 224 fixes for firmware malfunctions.

The developers emphasized that after the update, applications will be held in RAM longer. The firmware reduced the load on the central processor by 15%, and the power consumption after installing the update drops by 8%. Such indicators were achieved due to the advanced system scheduler, which can adjust the performance and power consumption of a single-chip system depending on the tasks being performed.

As noted at the beginning, Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will run MIUI 12.5 out of the box. The following smartphones receive updates “by air”:

  • Xiaomi Mi 11 / Mi 11 Pro / Mi 11 Ultra;
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 / 10S / 10 Pro / 10 Ultra;
  • Redmi K40 / K40 Pro;
  • Redmi K30S / K30 Pro.

The list should be expanded in the future. So far, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced is only available in China. The firmware is built on Android 11.
