The other day we wrote that almost 60 Xiaomi smartphones will receive the Android 12 operating system. It will come along with the MIUI 12.5 or MIUI 13 shell, depending on the model. Despite the fact that the new version of the OS will be available for a large number of devices, many of the company’s popular smartphones will remain without an update.
Which smartphones won’t get Android 12?
Smartphones, which we will write about later, are highly likely to acquire MIUI 13 firmware. However, Android 11 has become (or will become) the last version of the operating system for them.
In the article about the models that will receive Android 12, we mentioned that the release of the update for the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite, announced in 2020, is in question. Since then, nothing has changed, but the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro smartphones will definitely remain without Android 12. Like the entire Mi CC9 family, which consists of five devices:
- Mi CC9;
- Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition;
- Mi CC9e;
- Mi CC9 Pro;
- Mi CC9 Pro Premium.
The flagship family of 2019 Xiaomi Mi 9 will also remain on Android 12. As part of this, the company released not only top-end solutions, but also several available models:
- Mi 9;
- Mi 9 Transparent Edition;
- Mi 9 SE;
- Mi 9 Lite;
- Mi 9 Pro 5G;
- Mi 9T;
- Mi 9T Pro.
Without Android 12, the manufacturer will leave the 2019 and 2020 bestsellers Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8T and Redmi Note 8 Pro. The popular Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 Premium will also fall under the knife. In addition, the Android 11 operating system update will end for POCO M2, POCO M2 Reloaded, POCO C3 and the entire Redmi 9 family with the exception of Redmi 9T and Redmi 9 Power.
