British border guards detained on Saturday morning 74 illegal migrants who tried to get to the shores of the United Kingdom by boat through the English Channel, Independent reported.
According to the newspaper, migrants tried to get to the shores of the UK on eight boats. It is noted that there were several children among the detainees. Eight people reached the coastal town of Winchelsea in East Sussex.
Illegal migrants often look for any opportunity to cross the English channel and find themselves in the UK, where they are attracted by the social program, the possibility of obtaining refugee status and financial benefits.
