According to some reports, Andrew Cuomo will be charged with a sexual offense.

The New York State Prosecutor’s Office has filed a lawsuit in Albany to open a criminal case against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for a sexual offense. The press secretary of the New York State Court Lucian Chalfen announced this.

“Since this crime is of a sexual nature, the text of the lawsuit with the bills will be published in the near future,” the statement said.

Cuomo’s representatives have not yet responded to a request from Reuters to comment on the situation.

According to the New York Post, Cuomo could be arrested next week on charges of a sexual offense. Allegedly, the former governor allowed himself indecent acts against his assistant.

The alleged charges will be filed following an investigation conducted by David Soares, the Albany County Prosecutor, a source familiar with the situation said.

Cuomo resigned from the post of governor, which he held for more than a decade, in August, after 11 former employees complained to the state prosecutor’s office about harassment on his part.

New York Attorney General Letitia James said a five-month independent investigation concluded that Cuomo violated both state and federal laws.

The former governor denies the charges while stating that he takes “full responsibility” for what Cuomo calls “reckless attempts” to show a gesture of tenderness or joke.
