650 crew members will provide normal accommodation for refugees.

Holland America Line cruise company will accommodate about 1,500 Ukrainian refugees on its Volendam ship. This is stated in the statement of the American company posted on its website.

According to him, the cruise liner Volendam will soon dock in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam for a three-month period, all this time it will take on board refugees. “Ship <…> Holland America Line will be used to accommodate Ukrainian refugees under an agreement with <…> representatives of the Dutch government and [authorities] Rotterdam,” the company stressed. According to the company, 650 crew members of the liner will provide normal accommodation for refugees.

It is noted that for the purpose of uninterrupted acceptance of refugees on board its vessel within three months, Holland America Line canceled three flights that were supposed to be performed by the liner at that time – to Norway, to the British Isles and to Iceland. The cruise company apologized for the inconvenience to passengers caused by its decision and promised to resume these flights on July 3.
