A house collapsed in Georgia

A residential complex in the DeKalb County of the U.S. state of Georgia partially collapsed after an explosion, as a result of which several people were injured, local TV channel WSB-TV 2 reports, citing police.

The police were called to the scene. Upon arrival, they recorded a strong smell of gas. Shortly after that, law enforcement officers began to evacuate the residents of the house. It is known that an explosion occurred in the building; it was so powerful that as a result, neighboring buildings were damaged.

According to the police, it is unknown whether any of the residents are under the rubble, but several people received burns as a result of the explosion, they were sent to the hospital. At least two people were injured, and many more are believed to be missing.

According to the emergency service, “half of the building disappeared” during the explosion. An employee of the Dunwoody city police told the channel that the explosion “pretty much blew the building apart.”

The city police announced on Twitter that they were at the scene together with firefighters.

“If you live in a residential complex and you were not affected by the explosion, please stay at home. The entrances and exits are closed while the fire brigade is working,” the law enforcement officers said.
