A MiG-31 fighter jet escorted a US Navy aircraft over the Pacific Ocean, Free News reports with reference to the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that the crew of the Russian fighter identified the air target as a P-8A Poseidon patrol aircraft.
“There has been no violation of the state border of the Russian Federation,” the Center reported.
After the turn of the aircraft of the American navy, the Russian fighter returned to the home airfield. The MiG-31 flew in strict accordance with international rules.
