A schoolboy with a knife wounded three people at a university in Tokyo

The attack was carried out by a 17-year-old high school student from Aichi Prefecture.

A 72-year-old man who was injured in an attack at the prestigious Tokyo University on Saturday was seriously stabbed. This was reported by the Kyodo news agency.

A man and two applicants who came to take entrance exams to the university and were also attacked were taken to the hospital. They are conscious; they have been diagnosed with cuts.

The attack was carried out by a 17-year-old high school student from Aichi Prefecture. After the arrest, he told the police that earlier that day he had set fire to a piece of wood at a nearby metro station. Firefighters called to the scene found and extinguished a small fire, no one was injured during this incident.

The attacker also stated that he had problems with his studies and lost the desire to live. At the same time, he was not going to go to university and did not know the victims.

Earlier, NHK TV channel informed about the knife attack of an applicant of the University of Tokyo on three other university applicants before the exam scheduled for Saturday.
