A non-partisan Senator Bernie Sanders said on Tuesday that he intends to once again participate in the struggle for a post of the President of the United States.

The politician announced this decision through the media and in a letter. In a video published in social networks, Sanders expressed dissatisfaction with the current situation in the United States.

The Senator said that during the election campaign he will promote such ideas as the introduction of a public health system, raising the minimum wage, imposing additional taxes on the rich, the introduction of free higher education in public universities and strengthening the fight against climate change.

77-year-old Sanders calls himself a democratic socialist. Having become a Senator in 2007, he supports cooperation with the faction of the Democratic Party.

In 2015, Mr. Sanders claimed to be a presidential candidate for the Democratic Party, but lost to Hillary Clinton in the course of the primaries. His political views are popular among young American voters.
