A helicopter of the US Air Force made an emergency landing in the center of Bucharest on Thursday, there were no casualties, the press service of the Romanian Ministry of Defense reported.
“We regret the incident that occurred on Thursday, July 15, with a helicopter of the US Air Force, which was forced to land on Charles de Gaulle Square in Bucharest. The pilot managed to control the helicopter to avoid casualties,” the message published on the Romanian Defense Ministry’s Facebook page says.
The ministry noted that the helicopter, along with other aircraft, participated in a rehearsal for a performance on Aviation Day – July 20. The Defense Ministry stressed that they will take measures to prevent such an incident from happening again.
