Airports in New York canceled some flights due to storm “Henri”

John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports in New York and Newark Airport in New Jersey canceled some flights due to concerns related to tropical storm Henri, said Rick Cotton, head of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

“As of this morning, 23% of flights at LaGuardia Airport have been canceled. 11% of flights at John F. Kennedy Airport and 22% of flights to Newark have been canceled,” Cotton said at a press conference, adding that each of these airports has launched emergency headquarters-all communications is coordinated through these emergency centers.

According to him, other flights may also be canceled depending on the situation with rain, wind, and general weather conditions.

“Anyway, at the moment, airports do not expect flooding on their territories,” Cotton said.
