Along with the announcement of financial results for the second quarter of this year, AMD has shared important information about the upcoming new products. The company’s CEO Lisa Su has officially confirmed that new 5nm Zen 4 processors and 3rd generation RDNA graphics cards will be released next year.

“In 2022, we will introduce our next generation semiconductor products, including our Zen 4 processors, which are manufactured using the latest 5nm technology. The RDNA 3 GPUs will be released in the same year, ”says Lisa Su.

If we look at AMD’s plans for the slightly more distant future, the company is expected to introduce the Instinct MI200 Compute Accelerator based on the 2nd Generation Compute DNA architecture very soon. The company has already started sending the first batches of these chips for testing to its customers and partners, which means that the official presentation will take place in the near future.

It is known today that the Instinct MI20 is based on the Aldebaran GPU, which has 2 separate chips with 128 compute units or 8192 stream processors in each of these chips. The accelerator has 128 GB of HBM2E buffer memory and is intended for use in new systems for researching neural networks, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
