Member of the U.S. House of Representatives (Republican from Alaska) Don Young died on Friday. This was reported by the Anchorage Daily News newspaper with reference to the former head of the secretariat of Congressman Jack Ferguson.
“I am sad to lose such a good friend, a man whom I have known all his political career,” the publication quotes Ferguson as saying.
According to the data listed on Young’s page on the official website of the U.S. Congress, he was born in California in 1933. Since 1973, he has been a congressman from Alaska. One of Young’s recent initiatives was a bill banning the import of Russian seafood, which he introduced in the House of Representatives on February 24, 2022.
