American experts told about the number of deaths after vaccination against coronavirus

Most of the victims are older people.

In the United States, the figures of deaths among people who have been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine have been named. According to a CNN analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 99.99% of people fully vaccinated against the coronavirus did not have serious illnesses that led to hospitalization or death.

According to the CDC, as of August 2, more than 164 million people in the United States were fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Less than 0.001% of these people – 1507 people – died, and less than 0.005% – 7101 people were hospitalized with COVID-19.

About three-quarters (74%) of all reported cases of a coronavirus outbreak after vaccination were detected among older people aged 65 years and older. According to the CDC, of the approximately 1,500 people who died, one in five died from something other than COVID-19, even though they had been infected with the virus after vaccination.

Since May, the CDC has focused on investigating only hospitalized or fatal cases among those who have been fully vaccinated.

According to the CDC, this data is based on “passive and voluntary reporting” and is a “snapshot” to “help identify patterns and find signals among cases of a vaccine breakthrough.”

“To date, no unexpected patterns have been identified in the demography of cases or the characteristics of the vaccine among people with registered breakthrough infections,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report.

Thus, more than 99.99% of Americans fully vaccinated against coronavirus did not develop severe forms of the disease that require hospitalization.

Earlier, the head of the US National Institutes of Health, Francis Collins, warned of the failure of the American strategy to combat the coronavirus due to an insufficiently effective vaccination campaign. A day earlier, the increase in coronavirus infection in the country for the first time since February exceeded the mark of 100 thousand cases. A more contagious variant of the Delta coronavirus has been spreading in the United States in recent weeks.
