American rapper and actor Marcel Theo Hall, known under the pseudonym Biz Markie, has died at the age of 57, Variety reports, citing a representative of the hip-hop artist.
“It is with deep sadness that we inform you that this evening, being next to his wife Tara, one of the founders of hip-hop Biz Marki died peacefully,” the publication quotes the words of the representative of the rapper Jenny Izumi.
According to the TMZ portal, the performer suffered from complications caused by diabetes.
Rapper Biz Markie became widely known thanks to the song Just a Friend; the single itself took ninth place on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Biz Markie also starred in films, he appeared, for example, in the film “Men in Black 2” in 2002.
