The official previously served as Secretary of Transportation in the Obama administration.

The U.S. President Joe Biden plans to appoint Anthony Foxx, who served as Secretary of Transportation in the administration of the 44th U.S. President Barack Obama, to the post of director of the White House Office of Public Relations instead of the current head of the division Cedric Richmond. This was reported by the Axios portal, citing sources.

A White House spokesman told the portal that a final decision has not yet been made. Foxx himself declined to comment on the report.

Earlier, The New York Times newspaper, citing sources in the U.S. Democratic Party, reported that Cedric Richmond intends to resign in May.
