The U.S. President indicated that the fight against coronavirus is far from over.

American public health expert Ashish Jha will become the new White House coordinator for combating the spread of coronavirus, Jeff Zients will leave this post. This is stated in a statement issued by U.S. President Joe Biden on Thursday.

The American leader stated that “the fight against coronavirus is far from over” in the United States. He noted the need for revaccination of the population, vaccination of minors, as well as a number of other measures.

“I am pleased to appoint Dr. Ashish Jha as the new White House coordinator for combating the spread of coronavirus to lead this work,” Biden added. He called Jha “one of the leading public health experts in America.” Jha regularly performs on American TV channels.

Currently, this position is occupied by Zients. It is not specified why he is leaving his post. Biden noted that Zients “has been working tirelessly for 14 months to help in the fight against coronavirus,” and expressed gratitude to him.
