Biden appointed a person responsible for the refugee settlement program

U.S. President Joe Biden has instructed the former special representative of the State Department for the closure of the Guantanamo prison in Cuba, Lee Wolosky, to deal with the resettlement of Afghan refugees in the United States, Axios reports, citing sources in the U.S. administration.

According to this information, Wolosky will receive the status of a “special civil servant” and work in a new position for less than 130 days, implementing Biden’s large-scale program for the settlement of refugees.
