Microsoft founder Bill Gates said that his Breakthrough Energy fund would allocate $ 1.5 billion for joint projects with the US government if Congress passes a program to develop technologies that reduce carbon emissions, The Wall Street Journal newspaper reports.

Gates told the publication that if the bill is approved, the Breakthrough Energy foundation can spend money on projects to slow greenhouse gas emissions within three years.
“The crucial importance in the issue of all these climate technologies is to reduce costs and the possibility of bringing the scale (of these technologies) to a rather gigantic level. You will never achieve this scale if the government does not pursue the right policy, and the right policy is exactly what is contained in this infrastructure bill,” Gates told the newspaper.
