The foreign ministers of the two countries held a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with British Foreign Minister Elizabeth Truss. This is the first meeting of the foreign ministers since Truss took office.
Before the meeting, Antony Blinken noted the “extraordinary partnership and agenda” between the two countries.
In turn, Elizabeth Truss said that London “welcomes the lifting of the ban on entry to the United States and the opportunity for vaccinated British citizens to visit the United States.” According to her, this step by Washington “will help our trade and our relations, as well as families who want to travel across the Atlantic.”
