Tim Cook has been the CEO of Apple for 10 years and it looks like his departure from the company is not far off.
This was announced by journalist and Bloomberg insider Mark Gurman. According to him, Cook is going to leave office between 2025 and 2028. Interestingly, up to this point, the CEO is planning to launch a product in a new category. What exactly it will be – there is no information yet. But based on rumors and leaks, we are talking about an augmented reality headset.
Recall, according to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the development of Apple’s mixed and augmented reality technologies will consist of three stages. At the first stage, the Cupertinians are going to release a portable mixed reality helmet. It is already in development and, if everything goes according to plan, it will be shown in 2022. The device will receive a Sony Micro-OLED display, support for branded services (Apple TV +, Apple Arcade) and a price tag around $1,000. The second phase will include augmented reality glasses, which will be released no earlier than 2025, and the third – contact lenses.
