Johnson had a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

The head of the British government, Boris Johnson, promised to strengthen sanctions against Russia in order to have the maximum impact on it.

Johnson made this promise in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

“The Prime Minister has pledged to further strengthen these sanctions against the Russian Federation in order to cause maximum economic effect,” reads a statement issued by the British Prime Minister’s office following a conversation between the leaders of the two countries.

“He also outlined the work that the UK is doing to provide Ukraine with the weapons that it needs to protect itself,” the document says.

Zelenskiy thanked Johnson for the political position taken by London and the weapons supplied to Kyiv.
