Britain is asking G7 partners to impose a limit on gas and oil imports from Russia because of its operation in Ukraine, British Foreign Minister Liz Truss said.

“We need to coordinate this with our G7 partners, because we cannot do it alone. We need to reduce (oil and gas imports from Russia) gradually. I would advocate introducing a ceiling on how much gas and oil to import from Russia, so that eventually we cut off our dependence throughout Europe. This is what we are working on with our G7 partners,” Truss said on Sky News.

Earlier, Britain imposed sanctions against Russian companies and businessmen, as well as against Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
