At a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Boris Johnson promised Volodymyr Zelenskiy additional military equipment and equipment worth 100 million pounds.
As a gesture of solidarity with Ukraine, on Saturday, April 9, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived in Kyiv without prior announcement. Today, as confirmed by the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, the British Prime Minister met with Volodymyr Zelenskiy. According to the Associated Press, the topic of discussion was “long-term support for Ukraine” from the United Kingdom, including financial and military assistance.
Just the day before, Boris Johnson promised that his government would allocate high-tech military equipment and equipment worth 100 million pounds (approximately $ 130 million) to Kyiv for defense. At a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz held on Friday, Boris Johnson said that among the weapons that the UK will send to Ukraine are 800 anti-tank missiles, Starstreak anti–aircraft missile launchers and drones capable of delivering targeted air strikes.
As for non-lethal weapons, in addition to the already promised 200 thousand pieces of equipment, Ukrainians will be supplied with combat helmets, bulletproof vests and night vision devices.
