The hearing, which will consider the issue of transferring guardianship, is scheduled in a court in Los Angeles for December 13.
The new lawyer of the singer Britney Spears, Mathew Rosengart, demands to transfer control over her finances to a professional auditor. This was reported on Monday by the Fox News channel, citing court documents.
Rosengart, who in early July assumed obligations to protect the singer in court, filed a petition demanding that Britney Spears ‘ father Jamie Spears be removed from guardianship since it is in the interests of the person under guardianship. As a countermeasure, the singer’s lawyer demands to transfer control over her finances to the auditor Jason Rubin. In particular, he specializes in forensic accounting and has repeatedly dealt with cases of transfer of guardianship obligations.
As noted in the defense petition, Rubin must “get access to all documents and reports related to [the singer’s] finances.” The hearing, which will consider the issue of transfer of guardianship, is scheduled in a court in Los Angeles (California) for December 13 of this year. Earlier, Spears ‘ new lawyer stated that he intends to seek in court the removal of her father from guardianship over her.
In 2008, Spears was declared partially incapacitated due to drug problems and concerns about her mental health. For more than 10 years, the singer’s finances, including a multimillion-dollar trust fund, were controlled by her father James Spears, and a court-appointed lawyer. The singer’s father also made many decisions regarding her career, treatment, and personal life. Some fans of the singer claimed that she did not want this, but was forced to agree.
