Some Chinese companies stop supplying goods to Russia without official statements due to the imposed sanctions and pressure from American manufacturers, the Wall Street Journal newspaper reports, citing sources.

According to the publication, at the end of March, the head of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, warned that the United States could stop providing Chinese companies with its software if they continue to supply semiconductors to Russia bypassing sanctions.

Such companies include Lenovo and Xiaomi. So, in recent weeks, Xiaomi smartphones have not been delivered to Russia, the editorial board notes.

At the end of March, the Financial Times newspaper reported that the Chinese company Huawei may face new sanctions from Washington if it continues to support Russia in the telecom sector. Chinese technology companies such as Huawei and Xiaomi risk going against Western sanctions if they continue to supply smartphones and telecommunications equipment to Russia, the publication reported, citing expert opinions.
