CNN suspended the brother of the former governor of New York

Chris Cuomo is being investigated because he helped his brother during the harassment proceedings.

The American TV channel CNN has decided to suspend Chris Cuomo, the brother of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who resigned from his post due to allegations of harassment, for an indefinite period of time. This was reported by the press service of the TV channel.

Chris Cuomo is being investigated because he helped his brother during the harassment proceedings. “When Chris confessed to us that he offered help to his brother’s employees, he violated our rules <…>. As a result, we suspended Chris indefinitely while the case is being investigated,” the channel’s press service said.

This week, the New York State Prosecutor’s office published a number of documents indicating that Chris Cuomo used his sources and obtained information about those who brought charges against his brother Andrew. Cuomo is one of the main hosts of CNN; he hosts an evening news show on the channel.

Earlier this year, several women accused Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual behavior. In August, state Attorney General Letitia James, who, like Cuomo, is a member of the Democratic Party, said that the investigation revealed that Cuomo sexually harassed several girls, including from among his subordinates. Against the background of the scandal, Cuomo was forced to resign, and Kathy Hochul, who had previously held the post of vice-governor, took up the duties of the head of state.
