American director David Lynch will present a new work at the Cannes Film Festival, which will be held in May. This is reported by Variety with reference to its own sources.

Two interlocutors of the publication confirmed that Lynch’s project will be shown at the event, the details of which are kept secret. It is known that actress Laura Dern will star in it, as well as other artists with whom the cinematographer often works.

In 2020, Lynch unexpectedly released a short film “What did Jack do?”, in which he played one of the main roles. The tape, which did not receive any announcements and advertising, appeared on the Netflix service. In the 17-minute black-and-white film, the cinematographer plays a detective who interrogates a talking monkey suspected of murder.

David Lynch has directed such films as “The Elephant Man,” “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland Drive,” as well as the TV series “Twin Peaks.” The British newspaper The Guardian called him the most important film director of the current era.
