The organizers of the debate of the US presidential candidates had a problem with the Union.
The seven Democratic presidential candidates who won the right to participate in the next debate said they would not participate because they did not intend to interfere with the Union picket.
The Union representing food workers at Loyola Marimon University in California, where the next democratic candidate debate is due to take place, said it would picket the debate site to put pressure on the employer.
All the presidential candidates spoke in support of the Union. So, the former Vice-President of the USA Joe Biden wrote on Twitter: “I’m not going to cross the line of the picket.”
Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar, Pete Buttigieg, Tom Steyer, and Andrew Yang also made similar promises.
The Democratic National Committee said it only learned of the problem and would never ask presidential candidates to interfere with picketers.
A spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee said, “We are working with all stakeholders to find an acceptable solution.”
