Andrew Cuomo denies allegations of sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior against him.
The number of Democrats in the US House of Representatives, representing New York and calling on Governor Andrew Cuomo to resign, increased on Friday to 11, the news portal Axios reported.
According to him, Congresswoman Kathleen Rice, who previously called on Cuomo to leave his post, was joined, in particular, by the chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Carolyn Maloney, and the chairman of the Legal Committee, Jerrold Nadler. Congressmen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jamaal Bowman are also among those who made the call.
A day earlier, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio joined a list of 59 New York state politicians who called for the governor’s resignation due to the latest allegations against him.
In recent weeks, six women have accused Cuomo of sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior. Last week, Cuomo said he had no intention of resigning. He denies the charges against him.
