The logistics express delivery company DHL Express (part of the Deutsche Post DHL group of companies) has temporarily suspended the delivery of goods and documents to Russia; shipping from the country and within its borders is working normally.
“Delivery of goods and documents to Russia from abroad… temporarily suspended until further notice. Delivery of goods and documents from Russia abroad and across Russia is possible and is carried out in the normal mode. The offices of DHL Express branches are operating normally,” the company said.
They added that DHL Express also suspended the delivery of documents and cargo to and from Ukraine.
As DHL Holding reported earlier on Wednesday, the company stopped delivering parcels to Russia and Belarus, and also suspended operations in Ukraine. DHL will continue to monitor the situation and will keep customers informed of further decisions.
On Tuesday, the Danish logistics company Maersk announced its decision to stop accepting new orders to and from Russia, with the exception of humanitarian and medical cargo, food. The suspension will begin on March 1 and will cover all Russian ports. Later, one of the world’s largest shipping companies, Mediterranean Shipping Company, announced the suspension of new orders for cargo transportation from and to Russia.
