The relaunch of “Home Alone” was called Home Sweet Home Alone. The plot of the film tells about 12-year-old Max Mercer, whose family flies to Japan for a vacation and forgets the boy at home.
The main roles in the modern version were played by Archie Yates (“Jojo Rabbit”), Rob Delaney (“Catastrophe,” “Deadpool 2”), and Ellie Kemper, known for “The Office” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”
The director was Dan Mazer, who had previously shot “I Give It a Year” and “Dirty Grandpa.” Chris Columbus, the author of the first and second parts of “Home Alone,” called the restart “a waste of time.”
Home Sweet Home Alone will be released on November 12 at the Disney+ online cinema.
