French rescuers rescued 80 migrants on two boats who were stranded in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais (the Strait of Dover) off the northern coast of the country, according to the maritime prefecture of the English Channel and the North Sea zone.

According to the prefecture, 60 adults and 20 children are among the rescued. All of them were taken to the port of Calais, where they were handed over to the fire and rescue services and the police. It is noted that none of them were injured.

In June, it was reported that 46 migrants who tried to cross the English Channel in small boats and reach the shores of England were rescued off the northern coast of France.
