The American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly is suspending investments, clinical trials and the import of some of its medicines into Russia, according to a press release from the company.
“We are … We have suspended all investments, advertising activities and new clinical trials in Russia, as well as the export of non-essential medicines to the country,” Eli Lilly said in a statement.
It is noted that at the moment the activities of Eli Lilly in Russia are focused on providing patients with cancer and diabetes with vital medicines. All profits received from sales in Russia will be directed to organizations engaged in the provision of humanitarian aid.
The company is taking a number of actions in response to the situation around Ukraine – Elly Lilly donated vital medicines on March 3, and also focuses on the safety of Ukrainian employees.
