Elon Musk’s company has assembled the tallest rocket in history

The American aerospace company SpaceX has completed the assembly of the two-stage reusable Starship carrier at the spaceport in Texas, the Nasaspaceflight portal reported.

The system includes Booster 4 (a prototype of the Super Heavy stage) and SN20 (a prototype of the Starship itself). The total height of the complex is 120 meters, which is 20 meters more than the Soviet H-1 superheavy class launch vehicle. Together with the launch pad, the system rises to 145 meters. For comparison, the height of the pyramid of Cheops in Giza reaches 136 meters.

The final version of the rocket will be tested during an orbital flight over the Gulf of Mexico. Its date is unknown: in addition to mandatory tests, a permit from the US Federal Aviation Administration will be required.

As a result, Starship will be involved in the Artemis mission, which aims to return astronauts to the moon in 2024.
