The fortune of Tesla CEO Elon Musk exceeded the $ 250 billion mark amid an active growth in the value of the electric car manufacturer’s shares, follows from trading data and the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) calculated by Bloomberg agency.
According to the index, Musk’s fortune increased by $ 3.9 billion over the past day and amounted to $ 252 billion. According to Bloomberg, the head of Tesla remains in first place in the list of the richest people. The second place is taken by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose wealth totals $ 193 billion.
At the end of trading on Friday, the price of Tesla securities increased by 1.75%, to a record 909.68 dollars. On Monday, the company’s shares continued to rise in price – their value increased by 5.64%, to $ 960.59 per security. Thus, the capitalization of Tesla exceeded 900 billion dollars.
Earlier, the company reported a record quarterly profit. According to the last quarter’s results, Tesla’s net profit increased 4.9 times year-on-year, to $ 1.62 billion, and revenue – 1.6 times, to $ 13.76 billion.
Then, the international rating agency S&P Global Ratings also upgraded the credit rating of the Tesla issuer to “BB+” from “BB” with a positive outlook.
