Swiss tennis player Roger Federer lost to Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili in the ATP-250 tournament in Doha (Qatar).
The meeting took place on Thursday 11 March and lasted 1 hour 52 minutes. Georgia’s representative won in three sets (3: 6, 6: 1, 7: 5). Federer filed 12 times and converted one breakpoint. Basilashvili made the same number of aces and took three games on the opponent’s serve.
For reaching the finals of the competition, the 42nd racket of the world, Basilashvili, will compete with the American Taylor Fritz, who is in 33rd place in the world ranking.
Federer is currently ranked sixth in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). The Doha tournament was the first for the 39-year-old Swiss after a break that lasted more than a year. Before Qatar’s competition, Federer participated in the Australian Open-2020, after which he underwent a planned operation.
