The Turkish authorities called the forest fires that swept the country a national disaster. This is how the representative of the Turkish president, Ibrahim Kalin commented on what is happening on his Twitter account.

Kalin also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and said that the authorities have already launched an investigation into the causes of what is happening.

We are talking about numerous hotbeds of fire in 17 different provinces of the country. The fires have already reached the settlements of Guverjinlik in the Bodrum region, Didime in the Aydin province, and Yenikey in Alanya. Emergency services continue to fight the fire in the districts of Akseki in Antalya Province, Silifke in Mersin Province, Karaisali in Adana Province, Pos in Osmaniye Province, and Yahyali in Kayseri province.

The Turkish authorities believe that the fires could have occurred as a result of arson. The head of the communications department of the Turkish presidential administration, Fahrettin Altun, said that the government intends to look for those responsible.

According to the latest data, more than 180 people were injured due to the fires; three were killed. The fire has already got close to the places of the rest of the Russian tourists.
