Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed the information.

The Daily Beast previously reported the dismissal of employees from the White House who admitted to using marijuana in the past.

According to media reports, dozens of employees were suspended, fired, or moved to remote work due to marijuana use in the past. Simultaneously, the White House said earlier that “moderate use of marijuana in limited quantities” in the past should not automatically deprive applicants of the right to work in the US presidential administration.

“The bottom line is this: of the hundreds of people hired, only five people who started working in the White House lost their jobs. This happened as a result of this policy,” Jen Psaki wrote on Twitter.

Note that the rules regarding the use of marijuana in the United States differ depending on the state structure when applying for a job. For example, an applicant for a position in the FBI cannot use this drug for at least three years before applying for a job.
