The Department of business and professional regulation of the US state of Florida announced the closure of bars in connection with a new outbreak of COVID-19.
“The Department of business and professional regulation immediately suspends alcohol consumption in bars across the state,” Department head Chelsea Bisher wrote on Twitter.
The decision came shortly after mayors of some cities in the state announced that they would stop selling alcohol in bars due to a new outbreak of the disease.
On Monday, for the same reason, similar restrictions and some others were announced by the authorities of Texas.
Florida and Texas are among the most populous states in the United States.
