Former world champion in boxing in the middleweight category Marvin Hagler died in the United States at 66; the publication TMZ reports citing a statement by his wife on the page of the fan club of the athlete on Facebook.

The boxer died on Saturday in New Hampshire. According to his son, Hagler was previously taken to the hospital due to complaints of chest pain and difficulty breathing. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined. Hagler’s wife said that he “died unexpectedly.” Marvin Hagler was the undisputed middleweight champion of the world from 1980 to 1987. In 1993, the athlete was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Hagler has also appeared in several Italian films.
