Chinese car manufacturer GAC has unveiled its new electric vehicle under the Aion brand.
The new product was named Aion LX Plus. It is an electric crossover that boasts a range of 1,000 km. The tests were carried out according to the Chinese standard CLTC. It differs from the European WLTP or the American EPA, however the indicator is still good for an SUV. This power reserve is achieved thanks to the battery. In the top-end car modification, it has a capacity of 144.4 kWh. The battery is manufactured using proprietary GAC technologies. It is based on elastic sheets. Thanks to them, the battery is 20% smaller and 14% lighter than the competition.
In other specs, the Aion LX Plus has two electric motors that produce 225 hp. and a two-speed gearbox. According to the company, the crossover is capable of accelerating to 100 km / h in just 2.9 seconds.
The GAC company has not yet named the price and date of the start of sales of Aion LX Plus, but presumably the new product will be released next year and will cost around 50-60 thousand US dollars.
