In the next major Android 10 Q update — a feature will appear that allows you to transfer “heavy” files from one device to another without an Internet connection. The new tool — Fast Share — will allow you to share content not only between smartphones but also Chromebooks and even “iPhones.”
An alternative to AirDrop on iOS and macOS will replace Android Beam — an outdated way to share files on Android based on contactless NFC technology. This feature was added in version 4.0 of Ice Cream Sandwich, which was released in 2011.
According to 9to5Google, it will be possible to transfer images, documents, links, copied text and other content “to the nearest devices without the Internet” through the Share System menu. Another way is to sign in to settings, open Google, and choose Fast Share.
