Google to remove PSU from Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro

Google, following Apple, Xiaomi and Samsung, will also abandon the bundled power supply in its future smartphones.

A representative from Google told The Verge after the announcement of the budget device Pixel 5a. The novelty is also equipped with a power supply, but the upcoming flagships Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will lose it. According to the company, the power supply is simply not needed, because most users already have a charger with a USB-C port.

We will remind, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be presented this fall. New items will receive a proprietary Tensor processor with a Titan M2 security chip. In addition, smartphones will be equipped with glass cases with water resistance, OLED displays with a frequency of up to 120 Hz, new advanced cameras, as well as batteries with a volume of more than 4000 mAh. Smartphones will support fast and wireless charging.
