The U.S. Vice President and the French leader also talked about the importance of combating the “epidemic of hatred, violence and racism in both countries and around the world.”

The U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris discussed the situation around Ukraine and global food problems by phone with French leader Emmanuel Macron on Friday. This was reported by the press service of the White House following the talks.

“Vice President Harris and President Macron discussed their determination to continue to support the people of Ukraine after Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion, as well as global food and security problems exacerbated by this conflict,” the document states. This refers to the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

Harris and Macron also discussed “the importance of combating the epidemic of hatred, violence and racism in both countries and around the world” in light of the shooting in the American city of Buffalo (New York), in which 10 people were killed. The Vice President also congratulated the French leader on his re-election.
