A Shinkansen high-speed electric train derailed on the Tohoku line in northeastern Japan due to an earthquake, NHK reported.

The train derailed between the city of Fukushima and Shiroishi Zao. It is reported that part of the cars tilted. There were about 100 people on the train, they were evacuated, and there were no injuries.

An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 occurred in the northeast of Japan in the Pacific Ocean near Fukushima Prefecture, the country’s main meteorological department reported.

The hearth lay at a depth of 60 kilometers. A tsunami threat has been declared.

The earthquake occurred at 23.36. The tremors were felt in the prefectures of the northeast and north of Japan. Strong wave-like tremors were felt in the capital of Japan.
