HMD Global announced the rugged Nokia XR20 smartphone

HMD Global, as promised, has announced its first rugged Nokia smartphone to the market.

The device was named Nokia XR20. The novelty received a plastic case with MIL-STD810H shock protection and IP68 water protection, as well as a tempered Gorilla Glass Victus glass. It is 2x more scratch resistant than 6th generation Gorilla Glass and up to 4x more resistant than competitors.

As for the specifications, they are similar to those in the Nokia X20. The device has a 6.67-inch IPS display with FHD + resolution, brightness up to 550 nits and a hole for the 8MP front camera. The panel supports a special mode of operation with wet hands and gloves. Under the hood, the Nokia XR20 has a 5G Snapdragon 480 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The built-in storage can be expanded if necessary

The main camera in the new product is dual at 48 MP + 8 MP (shirik). Interestingly, each sensor has its own LED flash. The smartphone is powered by a 4630 mAh battery. The battery supports 18W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The new product also has stereo speakers with OZO technology, a side fingerprint scanner and a button that can be configured for any action. Nokia XR20 works out of the box on a “clean” version of Android 11. According to the manufacturer, the smartphone is planned to be updated within 4 years: 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches.

On sale Nokia XR20 will appear on August 24. The novelty will compete with Motorola Defy 2021 and will cost $ 550.
