Honda introduced the concept of an electric cross-coupe, based on which production cars will be produced

Japanese car manufacturer Honda has announced an electric cross-coupe concept at Auto China 2020 in Beijing.

The novelty was named Honda SUV e: concept and, as the manufacturer assures, it is the prototype of the company’s future electric cars. The car received a futuristic appearance with a sporty silhouette, frameless doors and a special plastic body kit around the entire perimeter. Also, the concept stands out for the lack of door handles, wipers and rear-view mirrors.

Naturally, the company did not disclose any characteristics of the Honda SUV e: concept, it only stated that a production car based on the novelty would be able to boast of a proprietary ADAS assistant, which analyzes the situation around the car. In addition, the car will receive the Honda Sensing active safety system and the new Honda Connect infotainment system.

Tests of the first electric car Honda based on the SUV e: concept for the Chinese market will begin in 2021, and the production version of the cross-coupe is planned to be released within two years. The car will be produced at the GAC-Honda factories.
