Former Trump administration communications Director returns to the White House as an adviser to the head of state.
Hope Hicks, who was one of President Donald Trump’s most longtime and trusted advisers, is returning to the White House at a time when the campaign for Trump’s re-election is gaining momentum.
Hicks will be appointed as an adviser to the President. She will work alongside Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, and Brian Jack, the White House political director, a source familiar with the situation said. The source agreed to talk about this on the condition of anonymity because an official announcement about the return of Hicks has not yet been made. Hicks will not be part of the White House press office, the administration official added.
Hicks, who worked at Trump’s campaign headquarters before the 2016 election and moved with the President to Washington after his victory, worked as the White House communications Director until 2018 when she resigned. Hicks moved to California and started working for Fox Corporation: she was appointed Executive Vice President and Director of external relations.
“I have worked with Hope for almost six years and I have no hesitation in saying that she is one of the most talented and literate people I have ever met. She has always impressed me with her calm confidence, dedication, and experience, and I am very happy to welcome Hope back to the White House,” administration spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.
“There is no one who would be so devoted to the cause of the realization of the program of the President of Trump than hope Hicks. We are pleased that she is returning to the team,” Kushner said in a statement.
Known for her loyalty and non-publicity, Hicks, according to White House officials, has always been able to “read” the President’s mood and helped colleagues navigate when communicating with Trump.
