In 2021, almost every second new smartphone will receive 5G.

Analysts at the international research firm IDC have concluded that smartphones with 5G will account for 40% of the total market by 2021. By 2025, the share of such devices will increase to 69%.

The price of 5G smartphones is expected to drop significantly in a few years, compared to the sharp rise in prices in the first months after the technology was introduced. In particular, the success of phones with 5G will come also thanks to the iPhone 12.

The world’s largest smartphone markets, China and the United States, are projected to grow by 5% and 3.5% in 2021. Up to a third of the world’s smartphones will be sold through online channels.

For more complex areas of the future, such as autonomous taxis or courier services, contactless services, robotization and more, 5G will become a key infrastructure element without which this future cannot be realized.

At the moment, 5G is not supported by all mobile operators.
